“Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river. Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail. Every month they will bear fruit, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them. Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing.”

-Ezekiel 47:12

The Giving Farm Story

It began in early 2020, with a small gathering of interested Farmers, who shared a common vision for starting a sustainable community Farm. Since that first meeting, the Giving Farm has become a thriving community of numerous enthusiastic volunteers, including 24 Master Gardeners, certified by the University of Georgia Extension Service. All of the volunteers freely share their knowledge and expertise.

By the end of 2022, this amazing and dedicated group of volunteers had logged 1,461 hours at the Giving Farm. The Farm has grown to twenty- five raised beds plus 16 raised beds for use by community members, a keyhole garden, a pollinator garden, mason bee house, three beehives, Dolores*Sharon Memorial Garden, a fire pit, a greenhouse, a compost and soil center, and an irrigation system. The volunteers have handled 11 tons of concrete blocks and filled the beds with rich, organic soil.

Since the beginning, crops have been grown using chemical-free, organic practices. In 2022, the Farm has delivered 1,374 pounds of healthy organic food to the Vineyard Church Storehouse Food Pantry that has served over 340 local families.
