Our Maundy Thursday Service is a time of worship, communion, and teaching on what the Last Supper means for us today. “Maundy” comes form the Latin word for “mandate” pointing to Jesus’ new commandment to love and serve one another.
The cross is not only the epicenter of our faith, it is “is the wood between the worlds — it is the true center of history.” (Pastor Brian Zahnd) Join us for a time of worship, communion, and reflection on the crucifixion of Jesus. Through this Service of Tenebrae, meaning “shadows,” we will walk with Jesus through the various levels of darkness he endured as he headed toward the greatest darkness of the Cross. Come with hungry souls, burdens to lay down, and sins that need forgiving.
Jesus Described His Ministry Like This…
“He has sent me to bring good news to the poor, freedom to the captive, healing for the broken, and hope for all.” (Luke 4:18–19)
At Vineyard Church of Augusta, this is our mission too. Everyone is welcome here, no matter your story or background. In the Vineyard, everybody gets to play. Come join us as we follow Jesus and share His love with our community.
