– Living kidney donation is the best option for people who need a new kidney.
– Living kidney donation is safe.
– You don’t have to be related to someone to donate a kidney.
– You don’t need both of your kidneys to stay healthy.
– You will have tests, screenings, and evaluation to make sure you are healthy enough to donate.
– You can still have a baby.
– You can speak with people who have donated before.
– Your hospital stay is two to three days, and recovery is approximately four weeks (not lifting anything heavier than ten pounds).
– There is no expense to the donor for testing and surgery.
