READ | John 17:20-21

My prayer is not for [my disciples] alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.

CONSIDER

Read the passage two or three times, silently and aloud, as you picture Jesus with head bowed talking to His Father about His own life purpose. What do you think it felt like for Jesus to be so close to the Father that he could say, “you are in me and I am in you”? What do you think Jesus felt in his heart as he imagined those future disciples that he was praying for?

ASK

Take time to express your gratitude to Jesus for his prayer to God, the Father, for your salvation. And pray that His presence in your spirit will manifest itself in ways that show His love to those whose lives you touch.
