READ | Ephesians 5:25-29

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church…

CONSIDER

Think about the assortment of relationships in your life – family, work, church, neighbors. What specific relationship is the Holy Spirit bringing to mind right now? God does not intend for all our relationships to have the same expression or intensity of love. But He desires all our relationships to mirror His selfless and sacrificial love in contrast to the selfish and self-centered “love” that is rampant in our world.

ASK

Take a specific relationship to God in prayer and invite His kingdom to come – His active rule and reign to invade it. Ask Him to make this relationship every he wants it to be. Ask the Holy Spirit to empower you to love sacrificially and selflessly expecting nothing in return.
