READ | Romans 8:26-27

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.

CONSIDER

Talking to his Heavenly Father was a vital part of Jesus’ everyday life. As he drew nearer to the time of his crucifixion, Jesus’ prayers became rawer and more intense.

During this season of Lent, we encourage you to give more time and attention to the Holy Spirit’s direction for your prayers. Don’t shy away from areas or issues that may seem particularly sensitive for you. Welcome the Holy Spirit to help you pour out your heart to Father God in ways that may seem raw and intense. Know that He always welcomes the honest cries of His children!

ASK

As you begin your conversation with God, ask the Holy Spirit to come and guide you. Invite Him to highlight your fears and frustrations, along with the deepest desires of your heart. Know that God will respond to your prayers with love and goodness.
