READ | John 14:6-7

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”

IMAGINE

Read today’s verses three times. For the first reading, simply read the verse. For the second reading, focus on every time the word “you” is used. The third time you read this, substitute your name for ‘you’.

Imagine that Jesus is really saying this to you, using your name. What is your response back to him? Is it ‘of course I do!’ Or is it ‘I’m really not sure that I do know you’?

ASK

Ask the Lord to remind you of the times you ‘have seen him’ as the verse says. Conclude by thanking him for his faithfulness.

PARENT NOTE

Read the passage to your child or have your child read the passage to you. Ask your child what family member they look like (a parent, a sibling, or a grandparent). Jesus ‘looked like’ the Father. He acted like the Father. He did the very things the Father wanted done and the biggest one is showing his love to them.
