Compassion & Outreach

To love Jesus and do his ministry everywhere is our mission. Serving is one of the ways we can all do his ministry. Our serving opportunities range from several large church-wide events to small group outreaches. Filling bags with food for low income children, making laundry detergent for our food pantry, and offering free water and prayer are some examples. Most of our outreaches are family-friendly.

Compassion Month
Every November we focus on God’s heart for the poor through our sermons and kids lessons. Each year we culminate Compassion Month by receiving a special offering that funds our ministry to the poor for the upcoming year. These ministries include our Storehouse Food Pantry and the Vineyard Giving Farm, along with international church planting and missions work in Haiti.

Thanksgiving Dinner of Love

The Wednesday before Thanksgiving volunteers prep hundreds of meals for the elderly and shut-in of our community. The next morning plates of hot Thanksgiving meals are packaged and delivered. As we deliver the meals we offer prayer and conversation.

Thanksgiving Gift Boxes

This outreach serves our Storehouse Food Pantry clients. The Saturday before Thanksgiving volunteers pack boxes containing ingredients for a traditional Thanksgiving meal. Clients come to the Café to receive their preordered box.

The Vineyard Giving Farm

The Vineyard Giving Farm provides fresh produce for Storehouse clients. We partner with Helms College culinary arts program to provide students with agricultural experience, while still supplying produce for our Storehouse clients.

Special Needs Dance

This annual dress-up dinner dance is held every February to serve families who have children or members with special needs. Volunteers can help with food or join in the dancing fun.

Christmas Eve Donut Giveaway

After each our Christmas Eve services, boxes of donuts are available for delivery to fire stations, police stations, or any place where folks have to work that night. It’s a simple and delicious way to remind recipients of God’s great love for them.

Augusta Pride Event

Each June we participate in this event by offering prayer, conversation, Bibles and Mardi Gras beads to the LGBTQA community of the CSRA.
