Whether you’re trying it for the first time or have received spiritual direction before, you are invited to sign up now for a 50 minute, one-on-one session with a trained spiritual director for our region. It’s easier to experience spiritual direction than it is to explain it, but here goes. Spiritual direction is a prayerful conversation. In a one-on-one, confidential setting a person meets with their director who helps guide a conversation with or about God. Mentors or therapists are great, but SDs are different and do not generally offer advice or diagnose problems; instead they journey with someone to explore their own relationship with God, ask spiritual questions, or walk through uncertainty together. Spiritual directors are more like companions helping someone identify the movements of God that are already taking place in a person’s life.
