READ | Romans 8:14-16
For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.

IMAGINE

Imagine that you are orphaned and then adopted into a new family. What might that look and feel like? In fact, as Christians, we are adopted into a new family, the family of God. We can call our heavenly Father by an affectionate term like “Daddy.” We become children of God, co-heirs with Christ, and we share in all his spiritual blessings. We are “led by the Spirit of God” to be renewed and transformed. At the same time, the Spirit informs our very souls that we are precious, valued, sons and daughters of our Almighty God.

ASK

Ask God for an awareness of just how beloved and precious you are to him as his son or daughter. Thank him for rescuing you from the slavery of sin and fear, and for granting to you the full rights and privileges of a fully adopted child. There could be no greater blessing.
